Formation

"Formation" is the intersection of Christian education and spiritual growth.  It is the life-long process of learning more about our faith and how to implement Jesus' teachings in our lives.  We offer formation opportunities for all ages...

Adults | Youth | Children | Preschool

Adults

Bible study is every Sunday (except all All Church Sundays) from 9:05 am to 9:45 am in the chapel.  We use a lectionary-based curriculum called Bible Workbench.  (Note that we use the Revised Common Lectionary at 2 Saints.)

Adult Forums are usually offered twice per month at 11:30 am in the parish hall.  These forums highlight critical social issues and ministries in the community. The Children's Choir rehearses during Adult Forums.

Seasonal Formation Offerings are provided throughout the year.  Most courses are in the early evening and are four to six weeks in length.  Topics vary from year to year.  Everyone is welcome to attend any or all sessions in a series.  Dinner is frequently a part of our fellowship during these classes.  Watch the bulletin to know where and when to sign up.  Child care can be arranged if requested prior to the start of the series.

An Education for Ministry (EfM) class is held every Sunday (from September thru May).

Youth (6th-12th grade)

Sunday school is offered on most Sundays at 9:45 am.  The youth class is using Seasons of the Spirit, a curriculum developed by an ecumenical group of Christian educators. It follows the Revised Common Lectionary and incorporates the Internet, the arts, and music in weekly lessons. Youth return to the service at the Passing of the Peace.

Children (kindergarten-5th grade)

Sunday school is offered three Sundays a month at 9:45 am.  The children's class is using Beulah Land and incorporating some aspects of Godly Play. Both are Montessori-based programs grounded in storytelling that give kids an opportunity to respond to Bible stories they hear. Once a month the children will celebrate a child-friendly Eucharist together as part of their class. These Sundays are noted in red on the calendar below.  On these Sundays they will stay in class throughout the 10 am church service.  On other Sundays they will return to the church at the Passing of the Peace to rejoin their families.

Preschool (pre-kindergarten)

Nursery is offered every Sunday during the 10 am service for those children age 5 and under.  Our nursery attendants use a Seasons of the Spirit curriculum designed for children ages 3 to 5.

The monthly schedule for attendants is...

3rd Sundays
